We just finished our second visit to the peaceful Trout Run Cabin. The sound of the creek was so soothing. We rarely left the back patio! When we did, the cabin had everything we wanted and a very comfortable bed. Looking forward to a third visit!

  2. Team Swilley says:

Excellent vacation and Exactly what wife and I needed…just to escape weekly work madness; relax, rewind- perfect! Had to reschedule from May to this past week (9/25 to yesterday- 10/01). Quick call to Murray back in May and Done!- no problem whatsoever.

Some notable appreciations and fun things done:

    – Loved the downstairs “power flush” toilet- seriously- that thing is awesome

    – Very Quick hot water from any sink or shower!

    – Gotta spend some time on that Bea-UT-iful side/rear deck, raise the windows, drink coffee (or other beverage of choice!), read, reflect, chat away or just sit back and listen/relax….raise the windows to hear Fightingtown Creek flows and feel the breeze!

    – Be welcoming and sweet to All the visiting pups, they were all great

    – If have 4×4 (we have lifted Jeep), hands down do the Cashes Valley run down to the cemetery, so much fun, beautiful scenery, about 5 creek crossings (~2 ft deep at most for our visit- but caution of course as I’m sure that depends on recent rain amts of which we had None)…it’s only 4.6 mi from cabin to cemetery at end, about 2 hrs total if get out peruse the old graves which we did

    – Had no luck for bass in pond, but still had fun tryin’. Used rubber worms and spinners with 0 bites, but later on read in physical visitor book in cabin that folks have had luck with live worms (fishing on bottom one prior visitor noted)
    – For the creek, take waders if ya have ’em and go in. So much fun. Fished with Berkley Power Bait trout worms. Walmart in town sells them in various colors. Red worked for me which was only color I tried. But W’mart has Chartreuse, Pink, White, etc. Google for how best to fish with these, eazy peazy

    – Walmart only about 15 mins or so…while at the cabin on Internet, Google directions…shld send you up gravel part of Cashes Valley to the paved road, turn Left onto paved portion of Cashes Valley, 2 miles to end/stop and Right on Hwy 2. Follow about 4 mi to end at Hwy 76 (think that’s correct hwy #) and turn Right, go about 3 or 4 mi, on Right next to Hm Depot

    – Blue Jean Pizza in B. Ridge (very near Walmart) was Fantastic

    – We spent a Splendid hour or so at Mercier Orchards (Before you get to Walmart)

    – Just so happened our visit corresponded with Blue Ridge Parade of Homes this year, WOW- we got to see several homes and they were fantastically amazing- albeit to the tune of anywhere from $1 million to $4 mill (literally)…they only run this once per year but it was way cool to see these homes in person (one can Dream, right?!)

    – OH, in Master BR main level, those curtains are Blackouts and they work Impeccably…if you don’t want to oversleep too late, make dang sure to set your alarm clock

    – get some bagged ice if don’t wanna use trays

    – any weird clangs and such, no worries, it’s just the heating system when it turns on haha

    – if require Bright lighting in bath, go to the upstairs small one, LOTS of bright LED light in there compared to downstairs

    – Town & Country Furniture in B. Ridge is a large store with lots of nice inventory if wanna shop some for small decor and typical larger items (very nice workers there too)

    – Go check out the shops in town near the Scenic Railroad, good way to stroll away the afternoon and pick up a couple unique items

    – Went to Expedition Bigfoot (Sasquatch Museum) just south of B Ridge…quite interesting

Okay, I’ll stop. We were there 6 nights and could Easily do another 6 right now. Thank You, Murray and fam, for sharing your special place with us. We did relax and rewind, and now ready to tackle the regular work week that greets wife and I ahead! Have already recommended Trout Run to some of our friends, co-workers and family. ‘Til next time folks….

We loved your cabin, Murray! We will go again as soon as possible. The only thing you need to bring is food because everything you need is there. We didn’t care about sightseeing because we didn’t want to leave the cabin and the creek it was so peaceful! Wonderful place, take your family here and enjoy it. There is a landline phone, internet, Netflix, etc. but we didn’t want to watch TV or check emails! It is a beautiful place…just go there to relax and unwind.

  4. Terri Ellison says:

Trout Run and the Host Murray was top notch.
We loved it so much we stayed an extra day.
The location was the best and convienient to so many Amenities and attractions.
The creek and pond were beautiful and relaxing we saw deer everday and the seasonal leaves were perfect. Just like a post card.
I cant wait to return in summer and again in Fall.
    It was the complete package.
Thank you Trout Run. We did not want to leave.

  5. Debbie says:

It was an absolutely wonderful visit!! The cabin offered way more than what one would expect from items you may have forgot to very nice neighbors (especially Buddy, the visiting dog) ! The stream offered endless hours of fun for the kiddos – so sorry we had to come back to work!

  6. Robert Brickner says:

We recently stayed at Trout Run Cabin for a long weekend. First I would like to point out the positives about the cabin. The cabin was extremely clean and cozy. For the most part it was very quiet and comfortable. The sound of the river behind the house was comforting. The king size beds were nice. The bathroom was clean, spacious, and the shower was very nice as well. There was an ample supply of firewood if one wanted to have a campfire. Getting to the cabin is a bit problematic but the Apple CarPlay and the directions that were mailed were spot on. The cabin is close to downtown Blue Ridge, Mercier Orchards, and Whitepath Golf course.

On Sunday morning, a dog which lived near by with its owners was either upset or left outside by him/herself and barked continuously for over an hour (I am not exaggerating). The worst experience we had on the weekend was we were walking down by the river and as we were walking up the drive we were met by a “free range” turkey that was likely owned by someone nearby. The turkey was not fearful of us and proceeded to chase my wife and I back into the cabin and then stayed on the deck and clearly wanted attention and likely, food. The turkey even jumped up onto the side door to get attention. We snuck out of the house, got in the car and went to the orchard store on Blue Ridge Hwy for about an hour and we came back the turkey was gone.

This is our second vacation at Trout Run Cabin. We love this cabin and beautiful area it is nestled in. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and well stocked. Love having firewood available for evening smores. Communication is excellent.
    In addition,we love the location!
This year we hiked Cashes Valley near the cabin, took the Blue Ridge Secnic Train, rented a pontoon on Lake Ocohee, drove to Morganton Point to swim in the Blue Ridge Lake, drove to Helen, tubed two rivers, shopped in Blue Ridge. There is so much to do!
    We will return again soon.

  8. Alison says:

We had an amazing week of family time at your cabin. Whenever we would leave to do something, the kids kept wanting to go back home to play in the creek. The outdoors of this cabin can’t be beat. Also relaxing to read on the back patio and listen to the creek. Thank you for sharing your home. It was very clean and comfortable.

A clean, quiet and peaceful place to rest and relax. The beds were amazing, I’ve got to get one of those for my house. Of all the cabins we’ve stayed in over the past 15 years this is by far the best one. It is very well maintained and we had no issues during our stay.

    Superior Vacation Spot!!!!

Trout Run exceeded everything we were hoping for. The cabin is clean and very comfortable! It is fully stocked with kitchen items and utensils, a pantry of “Just in case” items, great working appliances, and top notch water quality!!!!!!! This is a vacation spot that requires nothing more than staying at the cabin. The woods make for great shade and a cooler environment. Fishing out front was an early morning and evening event that we did daily. The boys even got the courage to tube in the running creek behind the cabin while we sat at the fire pit. To top off an already awesome experience, a sweet, gentle, well mannered dog named Roscoe graced us with his company. We were so delighted to see Roscoe waiting for us on the porch every morning and evening. He would “fish” with the boys and sit at the fire pit in the evenings with us. Roscoe was in heaven when we gave him treats, but little did he know, he made our vacation experience fulfilling. :). Thank you SO MUCH Mr. and Mrs. Carver for sharing your wonderful cabin and outdoors with us!!!!

We cannot recommend this property too highly. It was well equipped and clean. It is situated in a remote sport, but the owner provided such clear instructions that we had no problem finding it. The cabin is very roomy and would suit a family group. Literally everything was provided. This was the perfect spot for us. We walked up to the waterfall – not far away, – an easy walk, but wear decent footwear, as the path is steep at the end. If you want a relaxing holiday, only 20 minutes’ drive from civilization, look no further than this wonderful property.

Could not have found a more perfect place for a girls getaway weekend! The cabin was beautiful, accommodated 6 ladies with no problems, had everything that we needed. We loved that it was a convenient 20 minute drive to the quaint town of Blue Ridge for shopping and dining, but was also the perfect peace and solitude that we were all looking for. Walking and hiking the surrounding grounds were refreshing, the fire pit beside the creek provided the relaxation that comes so rarely. So sad when we had to leave. We will be back!

    Dear Murray,

Thank you so very much for allowing us to use your beautiful cabin. We enjoyed our stay in every way. It was very evident that you take great pride in the upkeep of your cabin and it gave us an attitude of taking care of it ourselves while we were there. I have told so many of my friends about your lovely cabin.

I think you do a first class job the way you have everything organized and all of the information you provide. Thank you again for the privilege of using your cabin and being able to make lifetime memories with our twin grandchildren. The four of us loved every minute we were there.

    Sincerely, Cindy

Murray was such a pleasure to deal with. Before our arrival I had asked about events that were going on during the New Year and he was kind enough to send me a list of all the events that were going on in the area. Also, we wanted to watch the UFC fight and he was kind enough to order it for us and all we had to do was PayPal him the funds and the same thing for a movie. It was an absolute pleasure to deal with Murray. The cabin is beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. If what you are looking for is to get away to a beautiful place and be able to relax and enjoy your surrounding this is definitely the place.

Truly appreciated this great escape away for some relaxing, quiet time. Murray was very attentive and everything is as shown in the pictures. The cabin is cozy, well-appointed and wonderfully decorated. We loved the fireplace, porch, (heated and a/c) the creek, the pond, fire pit and taking strolls around the area. I would love to also visit this property in the spring, summer or fall. It must be even more breathtaking and that much more fun to fish in the pond and sit by the creek and fire pit. The sound of the water rushing is so soothing. We loved sitting by the creek even though it was cold and enjoyed coffee on the heated porch with a great view of the creek. The pond with the gazebo is so peaceful and beautiful to take in. Again, seeing that in the summer or fall would be event better. 🙂 We did experience cold temperatures and rain, but all good since this was more about slowing down for a bit before we hit the ground running again back at home. We took our hikes around the area, trips to Blue Ridge shopping, Mercier Apple Orchard/Store and out to dinner. And yet, still enjoyed the coziness of the cabin and fireplace. We met Ellen, the neighbor during one of our walks. Very friendly. Another neighbor helped us jumpstart our car after a drastic drop in temps that put our Florida car in shock. LOL But, temps rose to the 40’s after the first couple days/nights and all was well. Thanks, Murray, for opening your lovely, family cabin for a great escape and yet a place that has many adventures where you can be as busy or not as busy as you’d like while surrounded by the beauty of the mountainous region.

    Tranquility at it’s finest

The decor of the cabin was well thought out- earth colors in symphony with nature, beckoning one to relax. The sound of the creek was also very calming. I went to rest and renew body, spirit and soul and I achieved that. I’ll remember this vacation for a long time.

  24. Andrew says:

My wife and I absolutely enjoyed our time at Trout Run Cabin. It was very quiet and the sound of the stream out back further added to the solitude. The pond near the cabin was very low due to the drought but that wasn’t a problem. The bed in the “master” was one of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on in a cabin. We’ve had some doozies in the past but no problems here. The sofa and chair were also very comfortable and led to me sleeping more than watching television. The kitchen was well-supplied and this cabin perhaps might be the most generously stocked cabins we’ve stayed at. Everything from a crockpot to a zester; it was there or in the pantry. And then the pantry, which had some food items, had a sign that said, “Use whatever you need, just replace it.” This is unheard of in the cabin rental world. I’m thankful for the owner’s generosity and willingness to trust the renters. Tv was great. Netflix worked ok too. Internet was decent given where the cabin is located. We went horseback riding at Adventure Trail Rides which is nearby and that was so much fun for us. We enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.

  25. Trina Moss says:

This was our first family trip all together since 2007 due to work schedules and college. I wanted it to be perfect and let me say IT WAS!! This beautiful cabin had every single thing needed right down to all the firewood you wanted. Stocked pantry with all things needed for cooking or baking, plenty of coffee, plenty of bathroom items, kithcen items, games for the kids, tubes, the list goes on and on. The cabin is furnished with awesome bedding, decor, outdoor seating, etc. My family loved every second and we are already planning our next getaway! Thank you Mr. Murry your cabin is amazing.
PS my favorite was the back poarch swinging and the sound of the creek.

We very much enjoyed our stay in Murray’s cabin. The cabin is clean and very nicely decorated with comfortable beds and furniture. We loved sitting in the porch and outside areas listening to the creek and enjoying the views of the pond. The loft bedroom area upstairs also has a lovely view of the trees – it felt like we were in a tree house! Murray is an excellent host. He responses quickly too of my questions and was a pleasure to communicate with. Thank you, Murray, for ensuring that we had a terrific stay!

  34. Whitney from Tampa, Florida says:

Our family had a wonderful vacation – we visited Mercier Orchard and Lily Pad Village in Blue Ridge one day, but other than that, we never left the cabin! Our 5 young children loved playing in and tubing down the creek over and over again, fishing in the pond, and the great hike up the waterfall. The cabin itself was beautiful, VERY clean, well stocked, and the perfect family getaway. We hope to go back next year!
    Whitney from Tampa

  35. Andy says:

Trout Run Cabin was perfect for our family of five. Cabin was incredibly clean and neat. Having a stocked pantry (replace what you use) was helpful for those couple of items we forgot. Murray’s list of nearby shopping and restaurants was very helpful.

  36. Nicole says:

Our family enjoyed spring break vacation at the Trout Run Cabin. The cabin was VERY clean and comfortable – organized and had everything we needed. The kids loved the bunk beds. We enjoyed spending every morning on the porch enjoying the outdoors and a cup of coffee. Murray communicated with us every step of the way and I always felt he was available if we had any concerns. We’d love to come back some day!
    Nicole K.

  37. Kathleen says:

Although we never met Murray in person, he was great at communicating and attending to all of our questions (and my husband had a LOT of questions about fishing!). We had a fabulous time at his cabin. The cabin was extremely clean and the beds were VERY comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped and the porch has lots of windows that can be opened to hear the creek. The fire pit in the back is right next to the creek, which is a nice touch. The location is beautiful-you are just a short drive from miles of hiking and fishing, or you can fish in the pond or the creek behind the cabin. I would definitely stay here again. It was absolutely lovely.

  38. Jenny from Florida says:

My boyfriend and I had such an amazing time. The cabin was organized and cleaned perfectly and Murray made sure to check in periodically throughout the trip to see how things were going. We felt very welcomed. There was plenty to do also the first day we were there and were snowed in. I will definitely keep this cabin in mind for future trips!

  39. Orlando and Farmer Families January 2016 says:

Had the best times of our lives. From the second we got there to the second we left, absolutely perfect. Two families with two kids, ages 5 and 6, couldn’t have asked for more. Bunk beds were a major hit. With an agreement to be “disconnected from the world” with our respective families, paid off to be a major success. A world that is so fast paced, it was refreshing to enjoy family time. Murray has been fantastic from the start. He was quick to respond to anything I asked. Loved using the fire pit and fireplace(sorry for the amount of wood we used) but it was perfect. Coming from South Florida, this was a much needed change of scenery. We brought a cooler full of home cooked meals, and this cabin suited our needs great. Lasagna, chili, and chicken parm added to such a great adventure. Feeling at home was an understatement. I am already looking at the calendar to see when I can return. Loved it!!!!!!

  40. Will and Stacy says:

FABULOUS! Quiet, restful and picturesque, the Cabin at Trout Run was as good as advertised and then some. Murray was very helpful in lining out how to get settled in and checked in on us a couple times during the week electronically to make sure things were going well. He responded quickly to any questions we had and was very accommodating. We are a family of 6 – with 4 boys ranging from college to middle school, and this cabin was perfect for us. The beds were comfortable, and the large kitchen table made for great family game nights. Even when we encountered some rain and had to move indoors, it was spacious enough that we never felt crowded. It has all the amenities we expected with some additional touches that we greatly appreciated. Down to the smallest detail, Murray has made this cabin feel like we were relaxing at a home away from home. We don’t have the most outdoorsy of kids, but they never expressed even a moment of boredom. They had daily bass fishing tournaments in the pond, tubing in the creek, roasting s’mores at the camp fire, and hiking to see some of the most beautiful waterfalls on the east coast. This cabin is tucked away from the hustle and bustle, but convenient to town and all the outdoor activities in the area. We couldn’t say enough about how amazing the week was and what a wonderful place Murray has – we didn’t want to leave! We would definitely stay again. Will and Stacy 2015

The cabin is amazing, right down to the last detail. It had pretty much anything you would need to cook dinner and or bake. Furniture was quality and everything was very welcoming. Gorgeous views and an amazing spot to fish!

  43. D. Scott Alexander says:

Trout Run Cabin was an experience beyond my wildest imagination. The place was perfect! Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the cabin was the perfect size. It has a cozy family feel, but also plenty of room for privacy as well. The 3 things that set Trout Run apart from the other cabins are: 1) The enclosed back porch with large floor to ceiling windows with incredible view & sounds of the roaring creek. 2) I’ve seen many cabins with fire pits, but this one is BY FAR my all-time favorite. Incredible presentation set next to the gorgeous roaring creek. 3) This shouldn’t be a surprise, but that roaring creek is absolutely fabulous. We may have benefited from some recent rains that made the water higher, therefore the water flow was more magnificent…..but regardless, I can’t imagine the creek being anything but beautiful. It is the ultimate deal maker. When you walk out of the backdoor onto the porch & you see the combination of the entire backyard scene, you IMMEDIATELY know you made the right choice! Thank you Murray!

  44. Casey says:

Trout Run Cabin was everything we wanted! The creek was beautiful and the Cabin was perfect. REALLY PERFECT! Super clean and super comfortable beds! The house was stocked with everything we needed, and Murray was very attentive and hospitable! Already planning a trip back! Trout Run Cabin is a little slice of heaven!

We stayed here for a week . One word : heaven

  46. Joy says:

Murray – although we never met him – was attentive, hospitable, and attentive. After we arrived at this dream cabin called Trout Run, he got in touch to make sure everything was a-okay. And it certainly was! Though small, this cabin packs a wallop! We were a party of 2 and felt perfectly comfortable and cozy… however the cabin can accommodate 8 easily. The surroundings were beautiful! There are log homes situated along Fightingtown Creek, yet the privacy inside and outside the cabin was complete. Trout Run is beautifully and playfully furnished and the owner has apparently spared no expense… comfy beds, well stocked kitchen and bath, throw blankets, spotlessly clean, and on and on… we will definitely be back to Trout Run as soon as there is an opening!

  47. Richard and Ann Parker says:

We just spent a week at Trout Run Cabin and I already wish I could go back again. That was the most relaxing vacation I have ever had!

The cabin itself is wonderful, having everything you could need plus some. It is comfortable and beautifully decorated. My favorite part was sitting at the edge of the creek, just watching and listening. My husband fished from the pond and caught a nice little bream. We took walks along the road that runs by the creek, we played horseshoes by the pond and we relaxed by the fire pit at night. On our last morning there we woke to see two deer grazing on the other side of the pond.

We went to Mercier Orchard and into Blue Ridge for shopping, antiquing, The Art Center and a few lunches. Great area! (Our favorite lunch was at Joe’s BBQ!)

Murray, the owner of Trout Run was fabulous with communicating and giving suggestions for eating and activities. It was much appreciated!

Thank you, Murray, for sharing your little piece of heaven here on earth with us!
    We will be back!

  48. Bethandjb says:

We stayed at Trout Run in Feb. 2015! We actually had to leave earlier than planned with the threat of snow & ice! But we plan on returning in the spring!

The cabin was clean and cozy and perfectly situated on a creek with a firepit nearby. Great for family time and s’mores. It was stocked with anything you might need to prepare a meal! The beds were very comfortable and cozy as well! Plenty of towels and dishes for all your needs! Laundry room was well stocked also! Beautiful sun porch overlooks the rushing creek and is a great place to have a cup of coffee in the morning and read a book!

The owner was readily available to answer questions during the reservation process and through checkout! He was very gracious in dealing with our inclement weather situation! We will definitely be back in the Spring!

Fantastic Stay at Trout Run Cabin!

We stayed at Trout Run Cabin December 28-January 3rd. This is our second stay at Trout Run Cabin and we can’t say enough good things about this place. From the reservation process, to the cleanliness of the cabin, to the absolute beauty of the cabin itself. The cabin is located in Cherry Log, Georgia, within the Blue Ridge Mountains. We were looking for a peaceful place to stay and we found it here. The cabin has two very large bedrooms with a loft, a bunk room, two full bathrooms, kitchen, pantry, washer/dryer, dishwasher, and a large family room, with a beautiful fireplace. Our favorite spot is the enclosed porch that overlooks the continuous flowing creek, which is as beautiful as it is peaceful to listen to. We spent many hours sitting by the fireplace and reading on the porch, which has a large futon couch, chairs, and a swing. This cabin is close to a variety of things to do from horseback riding, zip lining, Mercier Orchards, and downtown Blue Ridge. It’s close enough to the North Carolina border that a day trip is easily an option. We also took a day trip to Blairsville, GA to visit Brasstown Bald (the highest point in Georgia) and finished the day with a trip to the legendary “Alexander’s Store”, which boast to have “everything under the sun” in a 50,000 square foot building. All in all, we could not have been happier with our vacation to Trout Run Cabin and HIGHLY Recommend it to everyone. We can’t wait to reserve our next vacation here. Thank you to the owners, who graciously opened up their beautiful cabin to us and made our vacation a memorable one.

We have had an amazing stay!! Can not believe this is our last day … We definitely do NOT want leave. Kind of sad :-(. We would love to stay a few more days but we see you have someone coming in tomorrow.

The boys are headed to trout fish in blue ridge – we had a frost last night ..so it will be a cold cold one in the Toccoa

    The cabin is well stocked…wonderful!!!

We are thankful that you reminded us to get fire starters…that was key

If you enjoy fresh air and the country, looking for a place that just changes everything then Hurry to Trout Run. The cabin itself is amazing well maintained, with all the amenities. Quite location, fire pit, and listening to the running waters. My wife (Susan) and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone. What a Blessing to have stayed in such a place. Thank you!

“Amazing Cabin, especially if you have young children!”

The cabin is a perfect place, especially if you have young children. The porch was my favorite part because it is closed in, but you can easily put up all the windows and feel like you are outside. With a beautiful pond in the front and flowing creek in the back, it is a great place just to walk around the property. Downtown Blue Ridge is just not very far away, and the Owners have lots of brochures and information on local attractions. Cell service is a little tricky but the WIFI works perfectly so if you also need to do a little work and check emails, you will not have any problems. This is my second year there and I plan on making a trip back during the Summer. I highly recommend Trout Run Cabin.

    Unique!

Having rented homes around the country I can honestly say that this one is at the top of the list. If you love country and are looking for a cabin in a quite location this is the place for you. The cabin lives up to the presentation; clean, neat, with all the amenities that one can ask for. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend to anyone including senior citizens!

Many fine areas to walk, beautiful brook to sit by and enjoy the fire. Everything shown is exactly as represented; no disappointments here. I highly recommend.

We had a great time at the cabin…well appointed and a great location. Plenty of good fly fishing nearby. Was nice to escape the heat of Florida and wake up to 60 degree mornings!

Thank you for your hospitality. Everything was wonderful. Hope to come back soon. We recommended that folks visit the Morganton Recreational area. Nice beach.

We appreciated that all amenities were included, cleanliness of the cabin, the awesome fire pit and the wifi.

The activities we enjoyed during our stay were: Floating in the creek, making S’mores over the fire, fishing, shopping in the local shops and eating at the restaurant “Fatz”.

The stars in the night sky are incredible, fireflies lighting up the evening sky and the hikes to the local waterfalls will all be lasting memories.

    Until next time,

What a treasure you have in the cabin. Thank goodness we found your cabin. We searched and searched for just the right place. Your cabin looked great from the pictures and then when we arrived….oh what a treat. You have pretty much thought of everything. What a great location!!! Close enough to town but far enough out. We had made plans to travel around but honestly most of our time was spent at the cabin. Thanks for telling us about the road back in to the forest. What a beautiful walk that is. The children LOVED playing in the creek where the creek goes across the road. We liked so much, we walked back there almost everyday. Great exercise for the parents. Loved, loved, loved the firepit. Thank you so much. Appreciate you always getting back to us so quickly and being patient with all of our questions. Besides the cabin our favorites were: Hucks, Merciers, Joe’s BBQ and Sue’s Hamburgers. Our stay was in June 2014

  60. Shawn Rivera says:

Just wanted to thank you again. We had a great time fishing, hiking, wading in the creek and relaxing around the fire pit. The kids love this place as well. Don’t ever get rid of this gem of a cabin!!!! This place is close to heaven. Stayed July 2014.

  61. Sears Family says:

Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin! Our time here was much needed and allowed us to slow down and enjoy time together as a family.

We appreciated the VERY comfortable beds and pillows, the sheets and towels were soft and clean. We ate on real plates and drank from real glasses. Home away from home. What we did most was just hang around the cabin and relax. What a beautiful location you have here.

Our lasting memory will be when our little one caught his first fish!!!!

We enjoyed shopping in downtown Blue Ridge, going to a few of the local falls and doing the driving tours you recommended to us.

    We’ll be back.

Our stay was awesome. Great location and it was amazing to find out that the cabin looked as sharp and beautiful as the photos in the website. We were very impressed. Felt like home.
Very close to mountain bike trails in GA and TN; white water rafting, horse back riding, hiking, you name it.

  63. J.W. Family says:

We stayed here in November. Even though all of the leaves had fallen from the trees, it was still beautiful. What a peaceful place you have. Our family enjoyed sitting by the fire pit in the evenings while we roasted hot dogs and made smores for dessert. Good times. We will most definitely be returning. Thanks again for your hospitality and quick responses to our questions. Good luck to you in the coming year.

  64. Phil W. says:

Spectacular! Our family of three loved your cabin. My wife was able to relax on the the porch listening to the creek while she read a book and my son and I went fishing in the pond. we enjoyed the fire pit every night. Thanks for suggesting the road by in to the forest. It was a very nice walk. Can’t wait to come back. March 2014

    AMAZING GET-AWAY!!!!

One of the most relaxing vacations we have ever taken. The cabin was very comfortable and beautifully furnished. The upstairs bathroom is small, but all of the necessities are there ! The creek and the pond were too wonderful for words ! Nearby Mercier Orchards is a must visit .(only place we left the cabin to see !) Smores, coffee and homemade pies from the Orchard enjoyed around the fire/creekside, a game of horseshoes, a walk in the forest, fishing in the pond and creek……just doesn’t get much better than that ! And if it rains, you are in for a treat….wonderful porch with very comfy furniture to enjoy the sound of the roaring creek and the rain .You will not be disappointed. The owner and neighbor were very helpful and thought of every detail ! Best stocked cabin ever ! Very peaceful and “off the beaten path”…..we hope to be back in the Fall ! We did not want to leave !Thanks for a fantastic weekend…..the two guys said it was “best Fathers Day ” just hanging out. Very special place. June 2014

  66. Pat Knight says:

We loved the cabin. The furnishings were Five Star and the cabin itself was beautiful. Nestled between the mountain creek and the large pond we enjoyed an afternoon thunder shower. We caught enough fish for a nice meal. We will definitely return. I am telling Everyone.

  67. John and Liz Reed says:

We loved our Memorial Day weekend at the cabin! The location was great and there was plenty to do from fishing, hiking, horse shoes, playing in the creek, and enjoying smores at the firepit. Mr.Carver was great to work with during our planning and reservations. The cabin is beautiful with plenty of games and puzzles. I highly recommend staying here. We look forward to visiting again sometime soon. May 2014

Wonderful place. Very scenic and quiet. We loved just walking around, listening to the creek and trying to fish (even though it was too cold for fishing). We even had a little unexpected snow! Blue Ridge and amenities are not far away at all and the kids favorite was Hucks General Store. Cabin has everything it says it will have and a few extra supplies are there from previous guests that make it even easier to NOT forget something. March 2014
