Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
Trout Run Cabin (“we”, “us”) is a privately owned vacation rental cabin in the North Georgia mountains. This policy explains what information we collect through our website, our booking system, and our Facebook, Instagram and Google Business pages, and how we use it.
Information we collect
- Booking details you give us: name, email, phone number, stay dates, number of guests, a no-pets confirmation, and messages you send us.
- Payment information is handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Website usage: basic visit information (pages viewed and the link or campaign that brought you here, such as “utm” tags) so we know which posts are helpful.
- Social media: if you comment on or message our Facebook, Instagram or Google Business pages, we see what you send and your public profile name, as provided by those platforms.
How we use it
- To manage your reservation, send confirmations and arrival information, and answer your questions.
- To process payments, deposits and refunds.
- To publish posts about the cabin and reply to comments and messages on our own social pages.
- To keep the cabin and our guests safe and to meet legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or use it to build advertising profiles. Guest photos and full names are never posted without permission; review quotes, if shared, use first name and month only.
Who we share it with
Only services that help us run the cabin: Stripe (payments), our email provider (booking emails), our cleaning team (stay dates and guest counts only), and Meta and Google when we post or reply on our own pages. Each handles data under its own privacy policy.
Social media connections
If we connect our own Facebook Page, Instagram account or Google Business listing to our booking system, the access keys those platforms give us are stored encrypted and used only to publish our own posts and read comments and messages sent to our pages. We do not collect data about people who have not interacted with our pages.
How long we keep it
Booking and payment records are kept as long as needed for tax and legal purposes (generally up to 7 years). Messages and social interactions are kept while useful for guest service, then deleted.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. See Data Deletion or email info@troutruncabin.com.
